The incident occurred at 10:13 a.m. on Borden Road in the Oak Hill section of Middletown Township, police said in a press statement.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office was actively investigating and said there was no threat to the public.
Authorities were considering the fact that the incident may have been accidental, according to CBS2. The victim's name was not released.
